African Reed Thatch

African reed thatch is made from a Southern African Cape Reed known as Dekriet. African reed thatch reed panels are a heavy duty panel. The binding strip used on the thatch panel is a two part polyurethane mix, reinforced with a woven mesh. The binding strip is flexible, allowing the thatch reed panels to bend and curve to conform to unusual roof lines.  Thatch reed panels can be used on existing roofs or on wood or steel frames, such as umbrellas, over hangs, DIY tiki huts, awnings etc. They can be used for indoor or outdoor construction projects to give a tropical feel. They require no maintenance or cleaning.
