Flame Stop I-DS fire retardant is exterior and interior use. It is designed for use on hard to penetrate materials such as thatch, nylon netting, synthetic fabrics, hardwood and plastics. I addition can be used on open and closed cell foam, foam rubber, bamboo, straw, furniture and decorative wood. The structural integrity of the substrate will not be altered in anyway by using this fire retardant. When applied to the material it will have a Class A fire rating. Flame stop I-DS creates a self extinguishing reaction when the material comes in contact with an open flame. Furthermore it acts as a wood preservative. Flame Stop I-DS provides excellent resistance against insects, rodents and mold, including black mold.
Customers can easily apply Flame Stop by a one coat system. Some instances a coat may need to be applied to both sides of the product (see installation below). Apply by spraying, immersing, brushing or rolling the fire retardant onto your product. Reapplication will need to be done for exterior applications every two years. Treated fabrics can be dry cleaned up to 15 times before reapplication is needed. Treated fabrics can not be wet washed.
Suncoast Tiki Huts fire retardant products are non toxic. While other fire retardant products that you may come across have formaldehyde in them. Flame Stop I-DS is a water based fire retardant. Therefore there is no need to worry about breathing it in as you work with it. There are no fumes and it is safe to work with and touch.
