Flame Stop I fire retardant is recommended interior use. It can be used for synthetic or natural fabrics. Examples of some uses are drapery, furniture, curtains, cotton and decorative fabrics. In addition, this fire retardant can be used for interior wood and on Christmas trees. The structural integrity of the wood will not be altered in anyway by using this fire retardant. When applied to natural and synthetic fabrics it will have a Class A fire rating. But when applied to porous wood it is given a Class B fire rating. Flame stop I creates a self extinguishing reaction when the material comes in contact with an open flame. Furthermore it acts as a wood preservative. Flame Stop I has good resistance against bacteria and fungus. Flame Stop I provides excellent resistance against insects, rodents and mold, including black mold.
Customers can easily apply Flame Stop by a one coat system. Some instances a coat may need to be applied to both sides of the product (see installation below). Apply by spraying, immersing, brushing or rolling the fire retardant onto your product.
Suncoast Tiki Huts fire retardant products are non toxic. While other fire retardant products that you may come across have formaldehyde in them. Flame Stop I is a water based fire retardant. Therefore there is no need to worry about breathing it in as you work with it. There are no fumes and it is safe to work with and touch.
